orange and White Boujad

This Berber carpet, known as "Boujad", takes its name from the region of the same name in Morocco, where it was handmade on a wooden loom. The entire creation process is highly traditional. Sheep's wool is dyed with natural pigments. Once the weaving is complete, the rug is left in the sun for several weeks to give the wool a patina.
Each piece is unique. It's impossible to make two identical models. That's the charm of these rugs!
Each piece takes several months to weave. The weaver adds each knot one by one, line by line. Designed by Claris Virot and handcrafted by Them's craftswomen.
